Ron's Eightieth Birthday :)

Today was James' Grandad's actual 80th birthday so we spent today celebrating with him and his family and friends which was really nice - his friends and sister in law are all so sweet!

After Ron opened all his cards and presents John, Mel, James, Ron, Jenny (James' Grandma), Sam, Uncle Martyn and I all went out for lunch at the really beautiful  Whitsand Bay Hotel with James' great aunt Sylvia who his grandma talks about an awful lot and also some of his grandparents oldest friends, Joy and Roger who are potato and corn farmers just out of Saltash and were very interesting dinner guests :)

We took a bit  of a scenic route to get there...unintentionally...and that meant we got to see all of the Whitsand Bay coastline which was truly stunning especially in the beautiful weather we had today.

The view from the Hotel

We didn't get back from lunch until nearly 4.30 pm and then we headed back to Ron and Jenny's for a light tea and the fabulous chocolate birthday cake Jenny had made for Ron. That woman is her own worst critic! The cake was fabulous and everyone enjoyed it but she kept insisting it was dry in true grandmother style!

Most importantly, Ron had a fantastic day out with all his family and friends :)
